Summer Picnic 2018
Despite sunny skies and warmer than normal temperatures, only thirty-two members gathered on Saturday, June 16th, at the beautiful garden of Robert Argall for our annual picnic to celebrate the end of another successful term.
Before enjoying the delicious potluck dinner, a presentation of a Bronze Medal was made to our host Robert Argall. As her last official duty as President, Judi Murakami read the citation which highlighted the many contributions that Robert has made to the success of our chapter over the years, especially opening his gardens to numerous tours. Congratulations to this deserving club member.
The assortment of food and desserts provided by our members made for a delicious buffet enjoyed by all in attendance. Following dinner, members were asked to form teams of two for those who wished to play games of bocce bean bag toss, bollo toss and croquet. Points were awarded for participation and for winning each game.
Dorothy and Don Law won all four games and were the overall winners with a total of 12 points. There was a two-way tie for second place between teams Jim Clyde & Diana Scott and Maureen Denny and Aubrey Ferris, with 10 points each. All were given their choice of a rhododendron prize provided by our propagation group. Congratulations to all for a very successful party!
