“Horticulture was a natural progression in my journey as an artist and I have been dedicated to the industry since 2002. It has offered me the ability to express myself artistically but make a difference in my community and the environment. “

Eaglecrest Garden Club Meeting – “Rock Gardens and Regular Gardens.”

Wednesday July 17th at 7:00 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm) at Qualicum Beach Civic Centre.  Guest fee: $3

Speakers: Valerie Melanson and Margot Moser, members of Alpine Gardeners of Central Vancouver Island (AGCVI) speaking on “Alpines for Rock Gardens and Regular Gardens”.  Alpines are compact plants originally from mountainous and alpine regions.  Most are dwarf or slow-growing and grow best in dry, rocky outcrops.  Don’t be put off by their small size – they come in a huge array of shapes, colours and types of foliage.  Many are also evergreen, so you can enjoy their colour all year round.  And they work in non-rock gardens too!!
