Meetings and Activities:

Executive Meeting – Wednesday, Nov. 6th. @ 10 A.M.

On Wednesday, November 6th, the NIRS executive will meet in the lower room of the Comox United Church to conduct its monthly business. The executive members are asked to review the minutes of the October 2nd executive meeting in preparation for this meeting.

General Meeting – Tuesday, November 12th @ 7:30 P.M. “Dwarf Rhododendrons.” 

This month we welcome ARS President and M.A.R.S. chapter member Linda Derkach as our guest speaker. Linda’s subject will be  “Dwarf Rhododendrons in the Garden.”

This will be a regular meeting with the usual Revenue table and Ways & Means table available. It will also be an opportunity to renew memberships for 2025 prior to the November 30th deadline to have your name in the draw for a free membership. 
Doors open at 7 PM and presentation begins at 7:30 PM. Members and guests are always welcome! 

CVRG Work Parties – “Dormant for the Season!”

Unless otherwise announced, the cleanup work party at the Comox Valley Rhododendron Garden (CVRG) have come to an end for the winter months. We expect the cleanup work to resume in March 2025. Thank you to all our members who have helped keep the gardens look spectacular this year! 

 

Special District 1 Event – Sunday, October 27th

Fall into Gardening (F.I.G.) 2024 – “Planning for the Future”

On  Sunday, October 27, 2024 – 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM , the  MARS (Mount Arrowsmith Rhododendron Society), NRS(Nanaimo Rhododendron Society), and VIMGA (Vancouver Island Master Gardeners Association) are pleased to offer a day of education and enjoyment with internationally recognized gardening experts.
