Summer Picnic 2017
Despite cloudy skies and cooler than normal temperatures, thirty-eight members gathered on Saturday, June 17th, at the beautiful garden of Robert Argall for our annual pot-luck picnic to celebrate the end of another successful term.
As guests began to arrive around 4 PM, they were asked to form teams of two for those who wished to play the bean bag toss, bollo toss and bocce games. Due to the threat of possible rain, it was decided to eat first and play later. The assortment of food and desserts made for a delicious buffet enjoyed by all in attendance.
Following this potluck dinner, it was time for the presentation of a Bronze Medal to Wolfgang Hoefgen. President Judi Murakami read the citation which highlighted the many contributions that Wolfgang has given to the successful operation of our chapter, especially with the CVRG and our Propagation group. Congratulations to this deserving recipient.
President Judi also gave a special presentation of a rhodo to the ladies who stepped up and organized our annual Mother’s Day Garden tour this year. A BIG vote of thanks to Carolyn Chester, Maureen Denny and Ruth Fowler.
