Members of the NIRS Propagation group met for the first time in February 2017 to discuss our progress to date and plans for the coming season. Thanks to Sue Grant and Garth Wedemire for hosting these meetings in their Comox home.

Despite changeable weather during the early months, the potted rhodos and azaleas were growing well with regular watering and fertilizing. The small cuttings taken in September 2016 were transplanted into half-gallon pots and transferred from the propagation room to the greenhouse.

Additional work of keeping the plants fertilized and watered was completed throughout the summer. All plants were inventoried and will be available for future plant sales, raffle prizes, door prizes, and gifts.

Thanks to all those members who have provided time and energy to complete the work needed. A special thank you goes to Wolfgang Hoefgen and Antje Guertler who looked after the watering needs each week.
