Harry Wright – June 17th, 1995
NIRS Bronze Medal Award:
Harry was our founding president and is the force behind our continued success. He urged and encouraged some of our original members from Qualicum to form their own chapter in 1989, which became the highly successful Mount Arrowsmith Rhododendron Society (M.A.R.S.) Chapter.
He is tireless in furthering the aims of the ARS, not only on Vancouver Island, but is willing to travel to the mainland to disseminate his knowledge of rhododendrons and azaleas. His demonstrations on growing from cuttings are always enjoyed where he also gives timely tips on growing healthy rhododendrons.
The Chapter thanks Harry for the many years of giving of his time.
