On Friday, May 4th, NIRS members and the public gathered for the official opening of the latest expansion to the Comox Valley Rhododendron Garden.

The BOVI bed (Born on Vancouver Island) located behind the historic train building on Cliffe Avenue, features rhododendrons hybridized here on Vancouver Island.

Courtenay Mayor Starr Winchester was on hand to help President Harry Wright cut the ribbon at the garden bed.
