{"id":24524,"date":"2021-11-16T21:27:34","date_gmt":"2021-11-17T05:27:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nirsrhodos.ca\/ws\/?page_id=24524"},"modified":"2021-11-16T21:27:35","modified_gmt":"2021-11-17T05:27:35","slug":"summer-picnic-2009","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.nirsrhodos.ca\/ws\/summer-picnic-2009\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer Picnic 2009"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3>Summer Picnic 2009<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"summer-picnic-2009-photos\/\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Summer Picnic Photo Gallery\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4811\" style=\"padding-top: 0.2em;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nirsrhodos.ca\/ws\/wp-content\/gallery\/summer-picnic-2009\/0906000.JPG\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\"><\/a>On Saturday, June 13th, over 40 NIRS members and guests gathered at the magnificent home and gardens of Adela and Roberts Smith for the annual wrap-up pot luck picnic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This special celebaration commemorated the founding of the NIRS 25 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following a delicious dinner, club founder Harry Wright recapped some of the events and people that made the NIRS a special chapter for the past 25 years before cutting a special commerative cake made by Peter and Antje Guertler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional activities included a rhodo naming game (won by Paul Wurz&#8217;s team of Dorothy Law, Pauline Bonney and Jim Clyde) \nand a fun bean bag toss tournament with prizes awarded to the first place team of Noni Godfrey &amp; Dave Crucq and the second place team of Bernie &amp; Gloria Guyader.
